Q&A WITH ILIAN ALCHAHAYED
Describe your approach to a case.
I start all cases the same way. I sit down with the client and figure out their goals. While it is sometimes difficult even formulating a goal for the client, the challenging task is developing a plan to achieve that goal. I formulate a roadmap for all my clients so that they can see every action that will be necessary to achieve their goals. I always try to provide multiple resolutions for the client, which includes going trial. I thrive in the courtroom, which allows my clients to obtain better settlements and resolutions because opposing counsels know I am not afraid to go to trial.
Describe your strengths as it pertains to your Practice Area.
I spent a considerable amount of time perfecting my craft, learning by the fire at the beginning. I have handled numerous trials and I believe my results are due to the fact that I prepare, I present the best case I can and from learning from others’ mistakes.
My continued desire to be better is my best attribute. I am constantly going to trial training seminars to learn new strategies and techniques that I can implement in my own trials. My education combined with my experience provides my clients with the security of knowing that their case is going to have a great resolution.
Additionally, I get excited when I can bring and utilize my background from different practice areas of the law to help a client in coming to a successful result. I have pulled off some successful legal stunts, so to speak, to get clients in great positions for settlement when everyone else told them their case was a loser.
What do you do on your time off?
I enjoy spending time with my wife. I love to travel and cook, so I spend a ton of time in the kitchen on my weekends trying out new recipes. I like going to museums and art galleries. I enjoy going to the movies and relaxing with friends and family.
